About the Project
This project is meant to showcase the key concepts of gameplay programming, from artificial intelligence to gameplay features.
DEVELOPMENT
Estimated Project Hours: 36
Development was done in Unity using the C# programming language over a one week period. Each week of the course marked a new Milestone our class "Tank" Project, every feature in the current game was based on material taught for each of the four weeks of the course.
STORY
In the year 2033, mankind stepped foot on Mars. Six years later we established a Colony.
In 2131 we began to establish a Research Station on the Moon. Ten years later THEY made contact. It was a short battle, but after that we knew we were not alone.
One-Hundred and Sixteen years later, in 2257, we are sending the first pioneers to Alpha Centauri. They will establish the first COLONY.
From there on, mankind will conquer the stars...
GAMEPLAY
As you guide your colony ship to the destination, enemy fighters will be deployed. You must take them out and protect the Colony Ship. Once the Colony Ship reaches the destination, it will begin to offload. From then on, enemy fighters will be deployed in waves that you must defend against.
FUTURE PLANS
I never thought I would have future plans for a class project, but I really enjoy the idea of this game and hope to continue it's development in some way as a Standalone. This would include an overhaul of content, especially assets - I would like custom made assets for this game. The voxel theme is one I think would be neat for this game, especially if I could get more voxel assets, namely the planets.
